A segment of practical training for police officers participating in the course Fundamentals of Criminalistic Techniques that is conducted by the Police Academy of the Federal Ministry of the Interior was carried out on 23 April 2026 at Sarajevo International Airport in coordination and cooperation with the commander of the Border Police Unit of the Airport Sarajevo and the Company’ Management Board.
This segment of the training was organized with the support of employees of the Security and Protection Department, as well as police officers of the Border Police Unit of the Airport Sarajevo.
The training included theoretical and practical part in the field of airport security, encompassing security procedures, with particular emphasis on screening and control of passengers’ personal belongings - activities that the Security and Protection Department has been implementing over the past year—as well as work with modern security equipment available at Sarajevo International Airport.
A special attention was also dedicated to a segment of a specialized training related to the procedures of specialized explosive disposal squads of the Border Police Unit of the Airport Sarajevo, and to the measures these teams undertake, within their scope of jurisdiction, in crisis situations.
The implementation of this training further strengthens the professional capacities of the police forces and confirms a commitment of the Airport Sarajevo to continuous improvement of security standards and the strengthening of cross-institutional collaboration.
