Sarajevo International Airport Launches NUANCE SJJ

In the Premium Lounge of Sarajevo International Airport, the pilot project NUANCE+SJJ – Airport Experience Elevated was officially presented. This project represents a laboratory for developing a new travel experience through the synergy of creative industries, diplomatic missions, and the corporate sector.

In addition to other program innovations and pop-up activations, the launch of the first active DJ residency was announced, which would position Sarajevo International Airport as the No. 1 airport regionally and globally. Another highlight is the activation of the Nuance+ ART EXPO zone – a curated artistic exhibition program within the terminal.

This initiative is the result of extensive preparation and creative collaboration between the Airport’s team and the Association for the Development and Creation of Future Ideas, which has been active in the creative industries for over two decades. The project was formalized with strong support from the Management of Sarajevo International Airport and in the presence of representatives from the French and Japanese embassies, as well as guests from the corporate and creative sectors.

“We are proud to say that with the activation of this program, Sarajevo International Airport will enter the group of the top 10 airports in the world with a regular art exhibition, and become the first airport in the world with an actively established DJ residency. We are connecting the sky, the city, and ideas – in an entirely new way. This initiative opens the door not only to passengers but also to artists, young talents, small entrepreneurs, and everyone who wants to contribute their ideas and energy to creating a different airport experience,” said Mr. Sanin Ramezić, Acting Director of Sarajevo International Airport.

“Many tourists who visit Bosnia and Herzegovina form their first impression of the country at Sarajevo International Airport. Then, at the end of their journey, they recall their memories in the same place. From that perspective, the airport is an important window into Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I believe it will also play a vital role in expanding exchange between travelers from Japan and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia and Herzegovina holds great potential in terms of innovative tourism and cultural heritage. Japan also hopes to see progressive development of the tourism sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Mr. Omori Yuichiro, First Secretary and Head of the Economic Cooperation Division at the Embassy of Japan in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“With the NUANCE+SJJ initiative, the Airport becomes an extended platform for cultural diplomacy and residential creativity – a place where local becomes global, and transit turns into an experience. Through annual DJ residencies, art exhibitions, the NUANCE+ Business Brunch, brand activations, masterclass sessions, cultural collaborations with embassies and local artisans, and business innovations – from museums to hotels – Sarajevo Airport is transforming into a city in itself. Its runway is no longer just physical – it’s a runway of ideas for a new tomorrow,” said Mersel Bujak, NUANCE+ Ideatect.
