TUI one of the world’s leading tourism groups is planning to launch its new and first winter programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina as of December 2022. The most prominent British sky-tour operator Crystal Ski will run a weekly programme and the same will feature Bjelašnica and Jahorina mountains, two top skiing destinations in the country.
TUI's decision is an outcome of innovative scheme of incentives offered by Sarajevo International Airport, the one that was developed in 2022 in cooperation with the USAID Developing Sustainable Tourism in Bosnia & Herzegovina - Turizam. This innovative scheme ensures to airline companies and tour operators to operate with their fleet of aircraft per competitive prices, what makes Bosnia and Herzegovina an attractive destination.
''We are delighted that Crystal Ski Holidays decided to introduce a weekly flight to Sarajevo. We gave them an opportunity to discover our beautiful country by means of our, the most contemporary incentive scheme which provides the incentives for new markets and it ensures the establishment of new flight routes, and that gives to the airline companies quite convincing reasons for launching flight operations'', said Vedrana Vikić Musić, the Director of Aviation Services Department of Sarajevo International Airport.
One week long programme will include various skiing packages at Bjelašnica and Jahorina. Also, it may be the option for passengers to visit and explore Sarajevo, as well as other attractions and destinations in the country.
‘’Bosnia and Herzegovina is an exciting destination for visitors throughout the whole year. Beautiful skiing resorts provide exciting options for skiing and winter tourism at affordable prices in comparison with other countries. Numerous attractions of cultural and historical heritage, adventure activities, rural and community-based experiences, with excellent gastro offer, make Bosnia and Herzegovina a top destination.
Our partnership with Sarajevo International Airport is one of many initiatives we have been implementing to position this country on the international tourism map'', said Courtney Chubbb, the Mission Director for USAID in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The start of operations of the global brand such as TUI in Bosnia and Herzegovina will undoubtedly support the efforts of the country to position itself as a lead destination in the region and to attract other tourist brands to consider Bosnia and Herzegovina in the near future.
The first flight is scheduled for December 20, 2022 and it is planned for the flights to operate until April 2023 with weekly departures from London Gatwick to Sarajevo.
