BRITISH AIRWAYS AND GERMANWINGS IN SARAJEVO THIS SUMMER

A lot of efforts made by the Management of Sarajevo International Airport to open new lines and introduce new airlines resulted in coming of the prominent British Airlines in Sarajevo. Thus the British Airways will become the first airline from Great Britain directly connecting Sarajevo and London. According to the announcement BA should start flying on the beginning of the summer time-table (31 March 2007), three times a week, i.e. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from London (Gatwick) to Sarajevo. Final preparations for ground handling of BA aircraft are being made at Sarajevo Airport. There is another airline that announced its operations at B&H market. It is a German carrier called Germanwings that should also introduce three flights a week from Cologne via Bonn to Sarajevo at the beginning of the summer time-table. The Germanwings is one of the major low-cost airlines in Germany that connects 53 European destinations with a fleet of 24 aircraft.
