Record October at Sarajevo International Airport
Sarajevo International Airport achieves another significant milestone. During October 2026, a total of 189,472 passengers were served, representing a 4.4% increase compared to the same month of the previous year, making October 2026 the most successful October in the history of Sarajevo International Airport.
The record October result confirms the positive trends in passenger traffic recorded by Sarajevo International Airport throughout 2026. This positive trend is further reflected in the fact that a total of 1,973,069 passengers were served during the period January-October 2026, representing a 1% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
These results confirm the continuous development of Sarajevo International Airport, the strengthening of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s international connectivity, and the growing confidence of both passengers and airlines.
With the start of the winter flight schedule on 25 October 2026, the expansion of Sarajevo’s destination network continues. During the winter season, flights will operate to 18 destinations in cooperation with 14 airlines, while from December passengers will also have access to new Wizz Air routes to Bratislava, Berlin, and Prague.
Sarajevo International Airport is approaching another important milestone. The airport expects to welcome its two-millionth passenger in 2026 later this week, further confirming a successful year for the busiest airport in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The upcoming winter months traditionally bring a somewhat lower intensity of passenger traffic compared to the peak summer season. However, a further expansion of the destination network is expected as early as spring. Among the announced additions are routes to Geneva and Basel, as well as several other destinations that will be announced to the public in due course.
Sarajevo International Airport extends its gratitude to all passengers, partners, and employees whose trust and dedication contribute to the achievement of these record-breaking results and to the successful development of the largest airport in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
