New Cameras for More Secure Area around Sarajevo International Airport

In order to improve security additionally and to ensure more efficient surveillance of the area around Sarajevo International Airport, new cameras have been installed, integrated into the administration system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, and are already operational.

The installation of these cameras is the result of successful cooperation between Sarajevo International Airport and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton. Their importance is particularly reflected in the need for higher-quality surveillance and greater visibility of the area, due to heavy daily traffic and the movement of many passengers, employees, and vehicles.

A surveillance camera has been set up at Kurt Schork Street, at the junction leading to Sarajevo International Airport, that being a location where illegal stopping and parking are quite frequent. The installation of video surveillance is expected to lead to more efficient control and a reduction of such traffic violations, thereby contributing to greater safety and smoother traffic flow in the airport area.

Additional video surveillance enables better control of the situation on the ground, easier detection of potential security risks, and more efficient responses by the competent services. The system registers an illegally stopped vehicle within a very short timeframe, allowing the authorities to take further action in accordance with applicable regulations.
