Busiest March in History: Sarajevo Airport Records 22% Increase in Passengers

Sarajevo International Airport has recorded the busiest March in its history, confirming the continuous growth of passenger and air traffic in 2026.

During the month of March, the airport served 136,258 passengers, representing a 22% increase compared to the same period last year. The number of flight operations reached 1,331, marking an 11% rise.

Traffic growth was observed not only in March but also in the first quarter of this year, during which passenger numbers increased by 10% compared to the same period in 2025, alongside a 3% increase in flight operations.

Traffic growth is expected to continue in the upcoming period, particularly considering the start of the summer season and the launch of new direct routes to Paris (Orly), Berlin, and Ankara.

Dino Selimović, Acting Director of Sarajevo International Airport, emphasized that these results are the result of joint effort and success:"This historic achievement is primarily the result of the dedicated work and professionalism of our employees, as well as the outstanding cooperation with all our partners. This is a success we should all celebrate together and an additional motivation to continue strengthening the development of Sarajevo Airport and enhancing service quality for all our passengers," Selimović stated.
