In the beginning of 2022, the Cargo Department has approached to a different business model in terms of integrating operative activities for the purpose of more efficient and higher quality of cargo and mail processing via Sarajevo International Airport, and a final goal is to increase satisfaction of our service users.
Activities of the customs warehouse and supporting commercial activities are an important part of the airport process, which have been even more connected in operative sense with this new business model. In accordance with requests of our customers, new options were provided pertaining to documentary handling for export goods, in particular with respect to more affordable transport charges. Also, regarding the storage of goods for export, incentives were approved for a flight cancellation or for reduced capacities of airline companies. Also, facilities for import goods were increased in a previous period.
Around 2 500t of goods and mail is handled at the Cargo Center every year. Service users of our Cargo Center are numerous airline companies which operate scheduled and charter flights, over seventy local freight forwarding companies, sales agents, courier service providers, diplomatic offices and other.
