The carrier FlyBosnia connected Sarajevo and London, the capital of the United Kingdom. This is the first air service between the two capitals after 12 years. London, as one of the globally most popular centres of political power, culture, education, fashion, sports and tourism attracts almost 30 millions of visitors annually, what makes it the most-visited European city.
First aircraft on this route – a new generation Airbus A319, took off from Sarajevo International Airport this morning at 700 o'clock, and after the ceremony held at London airport Luton, landed at Sarajevo at 14:10 o'clock.
On this promotional flight FlyBosnia organized arrival of approximately hundred representatives of media, tourism and similar industries from Great Britain who will spend next several days in Bosnia and Herzegovina to get first-hand knowledge of its beautiful nature, sports facilities, local gastronomy and other touristic attractions.
Next week FlyBosnia will start having scheduled flights with this plane on this air service. In the beginning there will be three weekly flights but FlyBosnia plans to introduce daily operations in the next year.
The ceremony was attended by the United Kingdom ambassador in BiH, H.E. Matthew Field, who emphasized that the introduction of air service between the two countries will be useful for tourism, business and build-up of connections.
“Introducing this air service, Sarajevo International Airport has continued corporative growth of all fields, thus contributing to build-up of the country's economy and development of its touristic potentials, but also to a wider choice to BiH citizens in respect of European and international destinations“, said the director of Sarajevo International Airport, Armin Kajmaković.
