Seeing off the Dragons
Today Sarajevo International Airport was a venue of a formal press conference on the occasion of a departure of BiH football national team to the United States of America, where they will have two matches before start of the World Cup in Brazil to be held from 12 June until 13 July 2014.
The first to address journalists was the president of the BiH Football Association Elvedin Begić who called this a historical moment and added that what they feel is both a proud for placing to the World Cup and grief for the flood victims.
"We are trying to support those victims in all possible ways. In that sense the football players as our best ambassadors will also do their best not to let the world forget those people. The national team deserves our support. Let us all wish them a good luck in Brazil", said Begić.
The selector Sušić was surprised by a great number of journalists and said that a majority of footballers are quite ready for the World Cup as if the Championship will start tomorrow. The popular Pape mentioned some minor injuries of a few players, as well as the only serious injury of Ermin Bičakčić. However, Sušić hopes that our reliable stopper will be fit by the start of the Championship.
"The atmosphere is exceptional. The guys have been working hard and here, in your presence, I promise they will continue to do so since they are both serious and ambitious. We will not disappoint you at the Championship", said Sušić.
The captain Emir Spahić also said that he was satisfied with the atmosphere and practice season.
"We are leaving Bosnia with Bosnia in our hearts", said Spahić adding that hardship of the flood victims is an additional motif for good performance during matches in Brazil.
