Passenger Terminal Expo 2012
Passenger Terminal Expo, a fair and conference designed for the international airports and airlines, was held in Vienna on 18 - 20 April. This event, the 14th in a row, was organized by the Vienna Airport, IATA and Skytrax, the company engaged in research of air traffic. Passenger Terminal Expo covered four topics: design, management, security and technologies.
The fair with more than 150 exhibitors from all over the world, enabled visitors to see and test the latest innovations in the aviation industry.
Representatives of the Sarajevo International Airport visited the fair, too.
It was a unique opportunity for us to be briefed on the newest products, services and technologies related to passenger terminals and airports in general.
Apart from the exhibition, the Passenger Terminal Expo also included big conferences, made up of panel discussions and lectures with more than 200 lecturers from aviation industry. There were several presentations about changes at airports being necessary to come closer to passengers and their needs, improvement of airports services and passengers' airport experience. The presentations were made by executive managers of the airports from Paris, Munich, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Budapest and Toronto.
During the fair was arranged the „Skytrax World Airport Awards 2012“ ceremony, aimed at awarding the most deserving airport per different categories. According to the polls conducted among passengers in the past 10 months, the best European airport is the Schiphol in Amsterdam!
